Week 2 System Bets

Week 1 is in the books, and we struggled to hit the ground running. With Week 2 on the horizon, we have three NFL totals bets that we love.

San Francisco 49ers at Miami Dolphins Pick: Under 45.5 Edge: 4.33 Units: 2

San Francisco looked great in its win over the Los Angeles Rams in Australia last week. However, the schedule-makers did the 49ers no favors. Instead of traveling home, they will head to Miami for Week 2.

Although travel is not a factor in our systems, it is safe to assume the 49ers may be a little worn out. On the other side, Miami underwhelmed against the Las Vegas Raiders and will look to rebound. However, our model projects the Dolphins to score only about 15 points this week.

All signs point toward the under—and potentially a game that is not worth watching this Sunday.

Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals Pick: Over 46.5 Edge: 5.01 — SMASH TIME Units: 3

We have two SMASH BETS this week, and this is the first one.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals looked strong on both sides of the ball in a relatively sloppy game by the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay turned the ball over four times, giving Cincinnati plenty of additional offensive opportunities.

Houston also played well despite losing to Buffalo in a game that seemed more important to the Bills than the Texans, even though it was played at Reliant Stadium.

These are two high-powered offenses that should look to score early and often on Sunday.

Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders Pick: Under 43.5 Edge: 5.51 — SMASH TIME Units: 3

I would be lying if I said this game did not worry me a little. Both teams have been historically unreliable, but this number is too appealing for us to pass up.

I expect the Chargers to be who they have consistently been: a talented offense that struggles to finish drives in the red zone. I also expect the Raiders to come back down to earth after facing a very poor Miami Dolphins team.

Both teams should struggle to move the ball in this matchup. Our model projects the Chargers to score 17 points and the Raiders to score 20.
